Fashion Day: Styling The Simple Striped Tee

On this week’s Fashion Day, I thought I’d share with you one of my favourite outfits that I’ve worn during my rounds. You know I love my basics, and right now, stripes are just one of my favourite prints to wear. It’s funny how something I used to shun, now take a bit more of a precedence in my wardrobe! It all started from the Le Breton top from Popbasic!

You would also know by now how much I adore Popbasic’s collections and the fact that you can pick and choose which collection to purchase! The basic pieces are so interchangeable and easy to mix and match with each other AND with most of what’s already in my wardrobe. The recent collection – the Wanderlust collection – features a short sleeved striped tee, a thick chain necklace and a light grey cardigan. I have yet to wear the cardigan but I’ve worn the striped tee twice so far and the chunky necklace once!

I decided to dress “preppy” – if you can call it preppy – by layering a plain white shirt underneath the Popbasic striped t-shirt with my skinny pants and boots. I love the clean-cut, slim line silhouette this look gives.

Today, I decided to wear the same striped tee with a pencil skirt and a blazer. Even though I stuffed all of my teaching necessities in the large Louenhide bag, I also brought along another bag to store my personal belongings like my wallet, phone, keys, iPad, tissues – you know, personal necessities Image may be NSFW.

The satchel reminds me of that old school style, with clip on buckles at the front. It is made from premium water-resistant waxed canvas and features genuine leather trims. It fits my iPad perfectly and great for when I head back to uni after my placement (OMG! I CANNOT WAIT!).

I know the shoes might remind you of school shoes, well, they’re not but they are so comfortable and I actually bought this pair a long time ago – sometime in the late 90s? Thank goodness I saved it! They give me enough height, and are super comfortable. I can’t remember what the brand is and I can’t even see it on the inner sole as it’s so old that the name has rubbed off!

Loving my stripes! And this is definitely a piece I could wear casually with my cargo skirt, jeans or even shorts during the hotter summer months.
